New feature
I've recently begun documenting some of our dining experiences with my digital camera. Keeping a copy of the menu is nice, but a few words describing the entree or dessert just doesn't trigger the same kind of mouthwatering memories. I'll be posting the photos in the newly created NYC Eats -- In Photos photo album (now linked to from the sidebar to your left) for everyone's enjoyment. Bon appetit!
excellent. Now I'm hungry.

Question:
I'm bringing my daughter to NYC for her 16th birthday - any suggestions as to where I could take her for a fun birthday dinner? She's never been to the city...

That sounds like a great 16th birthday! If you plan on seeing a show, Le Madeleine, a French bistro in the theater district would be a good choice for a pre-theater dinner.
Another option is Ruby Foo's Times Square. Not the greatest food, but probably your best bet in Times Square.
Rocco's, as seen on the reality tv show, The Restaurant, is high on the novelty factor and serves decent Italian.
Those are the more obvious picks.
