loafwich

Meet The Loafwich: "A sandwich made with the majority of a 400g fresh loaf, and about £10 worth of filling." I don't know that I could eat a sandwich this big, but I'm enjoying thinking about what I would put in it. What would you make a loafwich out of? Tell me in the comments!

I want to say I'd make it with just bacon and cheese, but that much bacon might kill me. Prosciutto?

a different flavor of jam on each slice, and then let it sit in the fridge overnight so it turns into a trifle.

Whipped cream and pudding? ...Okay, maybe that's a bad idea. Um. I'd French toast-ify it and put in fruit and whipped cream. And chocolate sauce. And then I'd die.

It might be a convenient way to sample all of Salumi's menu of goodness in a single bite.

Might be good for a party?

My God! that one whale of a Loafwich.. DO I dis-assemble it to eat? lol! Nice blog

Wow, where is it where is it?
Amazing, looks like the sandwiches I've had in Philly...towering over the plate with french fries..
I'm a diehard club fan so I'd probably do a layer of turkey, a layer of avocado, a layer of bacon, and a layer of provolone. And just keep alternating :)

My grand-dad would call that thing a Dagwood sandwich. I'm afraid it would topple over and crush me.

That reminds me of the time when a high school friend snuck into Subway during a blackout and built the biggest sub I'd ever seen. It must have been more than seven feet long. He rationalized that all the ingredients would go to waste, and promptly drove the sub over to a house party.

Hey it's Bon here - I've made another loafwich! Here's the Flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bon/sets/72157594169532782/
