Last fall I made a weekend trip to New York City to meet up
with my husband, visit friends, and run a half-marathon. It's always
hard for me to leave New York, so I ended up extending my visit by a
couple of days... and that made all the difference.
I met Ed Levine at a party at Jason's and Meg's (thanks to an intro via
David Jacobs). As soon as I met Ed, I knew he was someone I wanted to
work with. This man loves food. He's always on the hunt
for good eats, and his enthusiasm and passion are absolutely
contagious. When he finds some "serious eats," he's going to let you
know, and you'll be glad he did. He is truly the "Missionary of the
Delicious."
Later when Ed asked me to join him in launching and running Serious Eats, there was no I was going to say no. Food + Web + Passionate team + NYC = Alaina's dream job. A couple months later, the site launched and I was moving back to New York City to join the rest of the team.
All this as a bit of an explanation for the lack of updates over here. I plan to get back in the blogging groove again soon, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, today is National Pig Day which means it's all pig, all day at Serious Eats. Come and pig out with us!
